Integration offers general contractors an unprecedented ability to share 3D model views with their subcontractors
HOUSTON, TX, June 7, 2016 – Assemble Systems, the leading provider of Construction Data Management solutions and iSqFt, the leader in online Bid Management for the construction industry, announced today the release of their integrated 3D bid management platform. The integration between Assemble and iSqFt expands the role of BIM by allowing general contractors to share 3D model views and object attributes along with the 2D plans, specifications and other bid documents. Using Assemble, general contractors can use models to create bid packages that include 3D visualization, object attributes and quantities. With the push of a button, these bid packages can be added directly to the iSqFt Bid Management platform to be shared with subcontractors bidding on their projects. For the first time, general contractors can visually articulate relevant construction data directly to the specific trades who can use that information to create and submit better informed bids.
“This product delivers the information and speed contractors need in order to make working with models viable from preconstruction through bidding,” says Dave Conway, CEO, iSqFt. “The integration sets the foundation necessary to utilize data in new ways to drive efficacy throughout the project life-cycle.”
“We are excited to bring BIM and model data to the bid management process,” says Howard Davis, CEO, Assemble Systems. “This integration allows general contractors and subcontractors to have access to a significantly improved process for communicating project scope to reduce cost and schedule issues that negatively impact project results.”
In the past, only a few subcontractors have had access to this type of technology in the bid stage, but through this unprecedented solution, subcontractors will be able to easily access models to better evaluate the risks by exploring the project in 3D. The companies ran an extensive beta program to collect feedback from leading general contractors and subcontractors to deliver an interface that is both intuitive and easy to use for AEC professionals who may not have technical knowledge of complex design tools.
“The integration of Assemble Systems and iSqFt allows subcontractors to visualize the construction project in all of its complexities,” said Raul Gomez, Director of Virtual Design & Construction at Robins & Morton. “Presenting details visually through Assemble Systems provides a realistic representation that will do wonders for all subcontractors in understanding the project at hand.”
