Assemble Systems’ Product Manager, Nancy Clark Brown and VP of Development, Trent Miskelly were on hand during the BIMForum last week to give a sneak peak of the upcoming release of Assemble. Here is what they learned:
- Everyone knows our name. Well not quite, but almost. At this year’s BIMForum we had a number of people come up to the booth asking for an intro to what we do because they were referred to us by a customer. If you are reading this newsletter we likely have you to thank for the referral!
- Data management in AEC has finally emerged. We heard a few presentation about the life of data and its use in construction. The WeWork example by Case, Inc. demonstrated the power of leveraging data for managing and making decisions by an Owner. Managing data for precon and construction activities is at the core of what we do, so we are glad to see data related topics hit the main stage.
- BIM still has a long way to go. Sundt’s preconstruction presentation and Project Atlas are just two examples from BIMForum of construction professionals designing custom applications to make their work easier, especially in bridging the information gap that exists between 2D contract documents, 2D estimating practices and models.
The Assemble team spent a lot of time in the booth as well, reviewing the latest product developments with both existing customers and people looking for ways to improve their BIM processes. Attendees appreciated the new look and user interface which allows for rapid access to federated models. The upcoming release has a multiple model environment that provides teams with the entire context of a project, by easily federating all models in the same dataset, with the speed and ease of navigation customers have come to expect from Assemble. Thanks to all that stopped by the booth to learn more about us and to give us your feedback. We look forward to BIMForum Orlando!
