We take pride in looking back at the clients who have integrated Assemble into their projects and decided to share their stories. Each project comes with a unique set of needs that requires specifically catered solutions. At Assemble, we love working with key partners in the construction industry to provide these solutions and build truly great things.
The projects below highlight a diverse range of services provided by Assemble integration – from planning and preventative measures to collaboration and communication to data modeling – all leading to higher efficiency and client satisfaction.
The Penta Building Group
University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) – James E. Rogers Center for Administration & Justice (RAJ)
Using Assemble, Penta was able to automate the process of accessing quantities from the models. In doing so, the Pre-Con team was able to reduce the time spent calculating quantities by more than 50% versus traditional 2D takeoff processes. By extracting quantities directly from the model, the project team experienced tremendous efficiency by reducing the time required for initial and subsequent takeoffs across iterations of the design.
In addition to quantification, Penta used Assemble to identify variances between each iteration of the design models (both visually and quantitatively) and apply that insight to avoid unnecessary costs in the form of unnecessary change orders during construction.
Satterfield & Pontikes / STV Joint Venture
Delta JFK IAT Redevelopment Program (Phase II)
By using Assemble to extract and analyze design information, design accountability could be conducted on a weekly basis, creating shorter iterative cycles and more reasonable cost controls to manage design progress and budget compliance. At any given point in time during design or construction, Assemble was used to extract model information in minutes to report on design to budget at the level of area vs. square foot cost of flooring materials, earned value analysis or production trend analysis, concurrently reporting out information relevant to the design team, construction team and owners.
In addition to using Assemble for complete model takeoffs, for very comprehensive information, easy to see in minutes, it also facilitates the use of that data for multiple project workflows and project deliverables. Exporting to products such as Autodesk Navisworks Manage or Microsoft Excel, accelerates the flow of model information and accessibility to that information across the project team.
Lackland Air Force Base
The construction team on the Lackland Air Force Base Dormitory 1 used Assemble as a system of checks and balances to verify subcontractor bids and scope.
The 263,000 SF project was built using various quantities of concrete masonry units (CMUs). When the first masonry subcontractor defaulted, he made a claim for payment that was above the amount it should have been. The team used Assemble to research and visually confirm work in place to determine exactly what remained to be built. The team determined what percent of the masonry work had actually been built, which was less than the sub’s claim.
