With our October Revit add-in update, Assemble will batch publish models from Revit, giving you the option of publishing your linked models into one merged model or individually. What does that mean for you? Visual Coordination.
Publishing linked models from Revit will provide you with the opportunity to use Assemble for visual coordination. Publish your architecture, structure and mechanical models together into one merged model and walk* through the building with Assemble’s web-based model viewer during your constructability meetings each week.
Why is Visual Coordination better in Assemble?
Faster performance, web based access, and all the information about the model (including quantities) are right at your fingertips. These are just a few reasons why your coordination meetings will be better with Assemble. Add color and comments to keep track of coordination issues and use the compare tool to identify how the models have changed since the last time you did a constructability review.
Let’s walk through how this process will work:
- Choose the Publish button from the Assemble tab of the Revit ribbons menu.
- Login using your Assemble username and password.
- Choose the project you would like to publish to.
- Choose the model that you would like to publish, by checking the box next to its name. Then, from the dropdown menu, choose if you would like to have the model federated with the other linked models or if you would like to publish as an individual file.
- Once you have chosen the models you would like published and how you would like them published, make a decision regarding filtering. Check the Filter using current view’s visibility/graphics overrides box if you would like Assemble to filter out objects from the publishing process by using the visibility/graphics settings in Revit. Leave the box unchecked if you are unfamiliar with visibility/graphics settings. Assemble will publish everything.
- Finally, click continue, add a version name, and Assemble will do the rest.
Whether you choose to publish your linked models separately or merged, Assemble will publish them all for you. Our new publisher will save time, so you can do other work. Once the models are merged in Assemble, walk through your model in Assemble, where combined with visual variance, your visual coordination will be more insightful than ever.
