Over the past few weeks, many of our customers were required to change their passwords to make them stronger and less likely to be hacked. Not too worry, Assemble hasn’t been hacked! But, we want to make sure that our customers’ data stays safe and secure. This minor inconvenience was critical to providing all our customers with the security they should expect from any world-class web application. Increasing password strength is just the tip of the iceberg. We’ve added a number of enterprise-class security and administration enhancements so you can rest easy knowing Assemble is keeping your project data safe, so you can keep delivering the most advanced BIM services without worry about the security of your information.
1. Customizable Password Strength Requirements
Assemble now requires passwords to meet the following minimum requirements, but feel free to contact Assemble Support if you have your own requirements:
- Contains at least 8 characters
- Contain at least 1 lower case letter
- Contain at least 1 special character (!, #, *, etc.)
- Contain at least 1 number
2. Enterprise-Class Data Encryption
Assemble now supports Transparent Data Encryption for Enterprise customers. We’ve always taken a number of precautions in designing Assemble to be a secure cloud-based application. We take the extra step to encrypt Assemble data in the database and protect the keys that are used to encrypt the data with a certificate. This prevents anyone without the keys from using the data, giving you extra confidence that your data is secure and safe with Assemble. This protects customers in the unlikely scenario where the physical media (such as drives or backup tapes) are stolen, so that a malicious party will not be able to access the data.
3. Secure Single Sign-On Support
The Assemble Systems sign-on process now permits the use of external identity providers for authentication. We’ve partnered with one of the premier Identity Management vendors, Ping Identity, delivering state-of-the-art security that integrates with your existing infrastructure, such as Microsoft Active Directory.
4. Assemble Events API for Administrators
We’ve added robust event logging to Assemble so administrators can ensure the integrity of the users and activity in their organization. At any time, via our Assemble Events API, organization administrators can get a complete audit trail into who, when and what users are doing in Assemble, which can be critical for sensitive projects.
