Assemble on the Road: Anaheim, CA. – Last week, we spent a few days out in Anaheim, CA for the AEC Next Conference. It was really interesting to see some of the booths that were displayed at the conference. Since SPAR 3D Expo & Conference was co-located with AEC Next, laser scanning was pretty popular, but then you might look another way and see someone wearing 3D goggles.

Assemble has never been to this particular conference, so our team was excited to be on-site, meeting lots of new faces and connecting with old friends.

Plus, we set up shop right next to our pals, Dot Product! At the conference, DotProduct and Assemble Systems demonstrated in-field registration and direct comparison of CAD/BIM geometry to point cloud data on the DPI-8X handheld 3D scanner…You can read more about our partnership with them here.

While we were there, Assemble’s own, Abigayle Curtis and Nate Coombs took to the podium at the BIM & IPD Theatre before we held our workshop which covered everything from our integration with Oracle Primavera P6 EPPM to Power BI. But the topic that generated the most interest? Point Clouds… which wasn’t surprising since there was a lot of laser scanning happening on the expo floor.
