400x200Join leading general contractor Brasfield & Gorrie as they relate how sharing model views with their subcontractors during the design phase resulted in an improved RFI process.

Chad Waters, Chief Estimator at Brasfield & Gorrie along with the company’s Senior VDC Coordinator, Contessa Hayter, will relate specific examples of how this process allowed additional interaction with their subcontractors around design intent and scope, resulting in a positive impact on a recent project.

About the presenters:

Chad Waters is the Chief Estimator at Brasfield & Gorrie. As the chief estimator, Chad leads budget development from the preliminary stage through complete CDs. He helps the project team develop a plan for building the project, applying his knowledge of historical costs, the subcontractor market, value engineering, constructability, and crew sizing to create the most accurate budget.  With a team of estimators, Chad updates the estimate with each new set of drawings and communicates any major budget impacts to the team.

Contessa Hayter is the Senior VDC Coordinator at Brasfield & Gorrie. As a senior VDC coordinator, Contessa affects field accuracy well before crews mobilize on site. She uses VDC technology to sketch 3D project models, perform quantity take-off, coordinate systems, and create 4D schedules. During preconstruction, Contessa works with the team to ensure budget accuracy and detect and correct potential collisions before they occur in the field. Throughout the project, she performs coordination of key building systems, gathering information from the project team and subcontractors to increase efficiency during construction.
