Introduction to 2D & 3D database estimating system linked to SAGE estimating, allowing companies to integrate their custom Sage databases with true 3D objects. Learn how you can easily get live updates at each stage of a project from pursuit through submittals, as well as advanced value engineering reviews.
Watch this discussion style session with Tim Kelly and Professor Kevin Miller, from Brigham Young University. They will walk you through setting up the connection between Assemble, eTakeoff & Sage to bridge the gap between BIM and Estimating.
In this session, we cover:
- Preparing the model for takeoff
- Setting up the relationship between the Family/Type Instance and the correct item in the Sage estimating Database.
- Establishing the relationship between the model parameters and the Sage WBS codes.
- How Assemble learns from past projects, using advanced AI methods to reduce time and improve quality of your company’s estimates.
- The ease of handling revisions/iterations.
About the Speakers:
Kevin R. Miller Ph.D. is a professor of Construction & Facilities Management at Brigham Young University. Kevin has presented at Autodesk University for several years on Estimating from the Model as well as presented for Associated General Contractors (AGC), Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) and American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) on both the state and national levels demonstrating how electronic documents can benefit the estimating process. Kevin is teaching the next generation of students how to use BIM tools to perform quantity takeoffs, clash detections, and sequenced presentations.
Kevin has also taught at Arizona State University and the University of Florida. He has served as the Chairman of ASPE’s National Education Board and webmaster for the Associated Schools of Construction.
Mark Reich is the Senior Field Sales Engineer at Sage.
Tim Kelly is the Product Manager at Assemble Systems, responsible for working closely with customers to develop the product strategy and roadmap. Tim has a wealth of experience within the construction industry, having spent the last 7 years innovating with BIM in design and construction from the general contractor and construction management perspective.
