Imperial vs. Metric: Battle Won in Assemble

Around the world, projects are designed using the Metric System of Measurement or the Imperial System of Measurement. Assemble supports both systems on a project-by-project basis and puts the power in your hands. Either publish the model with your desired system in place, or make the change later in Assemble.

Begin by publishing your model to Assemble. During the first publish into a project from the Assemble Add-in for Revit, Assemble detects whether the Revit drawing is using Metric or Imperial units.  If the model is in Metric units, then the publish operation will automatically produce Metric units of measure in Assemble.

When the publish process is complete, open your project in Assemble and navigate to the Project Settings to customize your desired system of measurement.

Simply click the radio button next to the system of measurement you want to use for your project. This change can be applied at any point in the life of the project, and you can switch back and forth as needed.

Your settings will instantly be visible in the model Grid within Assemble by reviewing your columns and respective quantity values.

Mech in Metric

 

Your desired system of measurement will apply to all models and model versions throughout your project in Assemble. Additionally, exports to Excel will report the information accurately based on your desired units of measure.

Have the confidence to model, estimate, and build in the system of measurement you are comfortable using while knowing that, at a moment’s notice, you can change it up to present information to Owners or other project team members who rely on a system of measurement different from your own. The power is yours!
