UT Jones Case Study

In 2010, Morris Architects and Satterfield & Pontikes Construction teamed up to complete a $10 million renovation of Jesse H. Jones Hall on The University of Texas at Austin campus.

Their approach reached an unprecedented level of collaboration. Both the architect and the contractor decided together to use one model for the project, and the Assemble platform was used to facilitate frequent review meetings with a virtual collaboration environment.

Initial meetings were focused on making the design model more construction-friendly. For example, distinguishing acoustical panel from regular walls helped the contractor price more accurately, earlier on. During frequent review meetings, the contractor published the architect’s model to the Assemble platform. They instantly tracked updates to the model with Assemble’s model comparison feature.
